The Abbey Lubber are minor demons or Devils from the myths of England. They live in Abbeys and religious houses which had an abundance of wealth attached to them. These spirits appeared n the 15th century and hated the religious who had become too wealthy. The spirits would tempt monks and priests from their spiritual holy life to become drunk, gluttonous and overindulge in worldly pleasures.
