Achlis is a strange elk from Europe. According to Pliny the Elder, this elk had such a large upper lip that it had to graze backwards to stop its lip from covering its mouth. It had no joints in its back legs so it was unable to lie down to sleep and had to lean on a tree. Hunters used this to their advantage by cutting halfway through a tree so when the Achlis would lean on it to sleep both the tree and creature would fall down. The Achlis unable to get up was then easily captured.
