A benign spirit of Zoroastrian belief. Ahura Mazda was the enemy of Ahriman and was said to be sinister and limited by time. At the beginning although a brother of Ahriman, the two did not know each other. A void separated the two. Ahura Mazda wanted to stretch himself from his abode so he created good things and travelled across the sky. When Ahriman saw Ahura Mazda travelling across the sky as a beam of light and saw the good things Ahura Mada had created, Ahriman decided to summon evil creatures of this world to destroy the good.
