From the folklore of Scotland it is believed that there is a hairy humanoid or Bigfoot creature that lives in the mountains of Ben Macdhui. The first sighting of this creature was in 1891 when Norman Collie was hiking in the mountains. He said that he heard footsteps behind him even though he was alone in the wilderness. When he turned round he saw nothing. Later in 1943 a man named Alexander Tenwion was walking in the area alone. He heard running footsteps behind him. Then out of the mist he saw a large human shaped figure that was running straight at him. He then took out his revolver and fired 3 shots at the creature. This did not kill the beast but he never heard or saw it again.
