Fairies and Nymphs
The Couril are a type of Dwarf or Fairy from Celtic fokore. They inhabit various stone circles and ruins in northwestern France and Cornwall in England according. Many are said to live in the ruins of Tresmalouen. They can be seen moving from stone to stone gleefully. They have the same appearance as humans by they are very small in size and are distinguishable by their webbed feet. The Coruil love to dance and do so during the night.
However one must be careful not to inspect the creatures and come too close to their dancing. Many a shepherd who draws near is forced by the magical powers of the Couril to dance until the sun rises. In the morning some are found dead with exhaustion and others extremely fatigued by the dancing.
Also maidens who come too close to watch the dance are cursed by the little fellows. The maiden will find herself pregnant. When the baby is born it will not resemble anyone in the family or her partner but due to the sorcery of the Couril the baby will resemble another lad in the village.
