This is the name for the wives of the Slavic fairy called the Domovoi. They have the body of a woman with the beak and legs of a chicken. They will stay with one owner where the wife of the owner is good natured and do all the chores around their house of which they are paid with a saucer of milk or some bread. They live in the cellar and are quite shy. They are very friendly and helpful but if you anger them they will cause many problems such as misplacing items, making clean things dirty and playing tricks. If the children of the family misbehave she would tickle children in their sleep.
