A cannibal monster from the tales of the Tsimshian Native Americans. Gather-on-the-Water was taken by his father to hide and observe the special Cannibal Dance by the cannibal people. He watched form the branches of a tree, but the cannibals found him and coerced him to eat a child that hey had killed earlier that day. Under the powers of the cannibals, he became one himself, but instead of being a part of the tribe he lived in the tree where he was caught. He became invincible and hunted humans for prey. Eventually a group of warriors gathered and caught the cannibal. However, Gather-on-the-Water could not be killed and eventually escaped. Although he was now free he killed but never ate another human.
