An undead creature that is the soul of a person who has died.
They manifest as a misty fog, or as the person looked whilst alive. Their form is ethereal or transparent and they are not obstructed by external objects, and can walk through walls. Some believe that the Ghost is a disembodied soul. They have returned the world of the living before entering the afterlife. In Western belief, the Ghost is in purgatory not being able to enter either Heaven or Hell. In the East a Ghost is said to be a person who has not yet taken rebirth as they have some karma to purify or some task on Earth left to complete.
Spectre is the word that is commonly used to describe a Ghost. However the word is mainly used to describe a Ghost which has been proven to be a hoax.
