An ancient Giant from Celtic Britain. It was believed that before the Celtic tribes settled on the British Isles, the land was inhabited by Giants. Geoffery of Monmouth (1100 - 1154) in his Historia Regnum Britannaie (1147) told how Brutus came from the Roman Empire to invade the islands from the army descended from Troy. Goemagot who later became known as Gogmagog was an enemy to Corineus, the lieutenant of Brutus. This story was encapsulated by the poet Edmund Spenser (1552 - 1599) in his work The Faire Queen.
