This sea monster lives in the Hawkesby River, located in New South Wales of Australia. It is described as an aquatic lizard similar to the Loch Ness Monster of Scotland however some detailed descriptions liken the beast to the prehistoric plesiosaur, currently believed by scientists to have become extinct 70 million years ago. The Hawkesby River Monster has a long neck with a crocodile-shaped head lined with sharp teeth and two long flippers. It has featured in early rock art by the primordial Aboriginal tribes 3-4,000 years ago and stories and sightings have taken place as late as the 19th century. Aboriginal families would use stories of the beast to scare children but scientists are currently on the search for any evidence of this beasts to prove the hundreds of sightings that have take place.
