A horned serpent in the myths of the Arapho people of North America. One story tells of a lazy, mischievous person called Lime Crazy who was the brother of a Chief. The Chief left him in the mountains, tired of his meaningless ways. Lime Crazy found a hawk that told him to seek the keeper of the river to find his way home. While approaching the river the horned Hiintcabiit raised its head above the water. Lime Crazy tied a falcon’s feather on his horn and got a free ride home on the back of this large serpent.
