One of the animals told by lumberjacks that reputedly lived in Wisconsin and Minnesota. This was a highly coloured snake that would traverse the land by biting its tail, forming a hoop and rolling at a fast pace. Despite its comical and bizarre appearance, the Hoop Snake was reported to be poisonous. It would rush towards its prey in its hoop form before launching its deadly fangs at them. It was advised that to escape its attack, one should jump through the hoop confusing it and giving oneself a chance to escape.
