A type of Vampire from Bosnia. This creature lives the first part of its life as a man who transforms into a wolf at night to hunt. When Austrians took control of Bosnia from the Ottoman Empire in 1878, officials discovered multiple cases where people had been burnt at the stake for being found guilty of being a Lampir. A great cartoon called Dobrynya Nikitich and Zemy Gorynych (2006) is a Russian children's animation with Dragons and other Russian mythical beings. But for those who love Vampires, lets not forget that Eastern Europe is their birth place. No film quite gives the Vampire spooks like Nosferatu (1922). However if you like it modern, Day Watch and Night Watch are interesting Vampire alternatives. Also the fantasy tabletop game Warhammer features an army called Vampire Counts which has been greatly inspired by Eastern European beliefs and culture.
