From the folklore of Melanesia, New Ireland. He was a god of earthquakes who has a human body but the tail of a snake. He kept his snake tail hidden from his wives who discovered it when they caught him sunbathing naked. Ashamed, he chopped off his tail and turned each segment into a clan of people. Other parts of the tail became the birds and the fish.
