A Giant from the legends of ancient Greece and Rome. He is known by various names with different meanings. As Damastes his name means ‘Tamer’ and as Polypemon his name means ‘Injurious’. As Procrustes his name means ‘Stretcher’. He lives in Eleusis living in the mountains. He would find lost or weary travellers and offer them a bed for a night in his cave. However his bed was actually his torturing device. While his victim slept he would cut off any part of the body that overlapped the bed making their body fit. Whether it was their arm foot or forehead, it would be severed. If the person was shorter than the bed he would tie them up and stretch their body until it was the length of the bed. Eventually the Giant was killed by Theseus who carried out the same torture to the Giant.
