The name means ‘dogfish woman’ and founded the Dogfish lineage of the Haida people in north-western Canada. A woman who made fun of dogfish was one day taken under water by the creatures and saw that they were people who wore the skin of dogfish. However she then noticed that fins were growing on her body. After many years her husband found her but she had become a fish creature and lived with the fish. She refused to live with her old husband in the now alien and obscure human world that she was once apart of.
