A type of fish from the old bestiaries of China. The Rupi Zhi Yu had the body of an upturned cooking pot with a bird’s head and with the tail and fins of a fish. It gives birth to pearls and jade stones and inhabited the Han River. Seeing one would be an omen that there would be a great flood in the nearby town.
