She had the top half of a beautiful woman and the lower-half of a serpent and was the daughter of Gaia and Tartarus on ancient Greece. She lived in the caverns of Scythia and attracted males with her beautiful form and then locked them in a coil before consuming them. She later mated with Typhon and bore numerous beasts such as Cerberus, Orthos, Chimaera, Hydra, Harpies, the Dragons, Colchis and Ladon, Scylla, the Nemean Lion, the Greek Sphinx, the Blatant beast and the eagle that pecked the liver of Prometheus. Echidna was finally killed by the hundred-eyed monster Argos.
