A horned serpent with long ears that lives in Lake Storsjoin of Swedish Legend. A stone is placed on the only island of the lake which has special powers to keep the creature at bay. There was an attempt to capture it in 1894 when a cage containing dead pigs was lowered into the lake. Harpoons were attached to kill the beast this failed, and in 1986 the Storsjoodjuret became a protected species.
