Ghosts from ancient Greece that frighten horses. Their name translates as ‘Horse Frighteners’. They haunted the race courses of Olympia, Isthmos and Nemea. When the horses where racing, before reaching the finishing line they were overcome with great fear for no reason. This led to disorder and the chariot would crash with the charioteers being injured. Some say that the Taraxippi were the Ghosts of heroes come ack to haunt he horses.
